Should every person go to Therapy?

Do you believe there are advantages to having a therapist? Someone you can talk to without feeling judged? And even if they do judge you, it doesn't matter much since you won't see them for another 2-3 weeks. This is unlike a family member whose judgment you might face daily.
I have a therapist, and I'll share my thoughts on the pros and cons of having one. I've just recently started seeing a therapist, and I've noticed changes in my life.
My first therapist was assigned to me temporarily. She left early, and I'm not sure why. However, I learned from her that the key is to "just wake up and do it." She explained that anxiety stems from "ruminating" thoughts. You might be lying down, dwelling on a simple task like brushing your teeth, which then leads to anxiety. This approach helped me in the short term, but not long-term, because I only saw her about three times, so it didn't really stick.
Now, my second (current) therapist is someone I see occasionally. Having a therapist means having someone who listens and provides feedback on anything you say. If you're not open to receiving feedback on your deepest thoughts and problems, therapy might not be for you. It also helps you come out of your shell if you're honest with your therapist. Over time, you'll find yourself talking to your therapist like a friend. The benefits include having someone to share all your issues with, someone who lifts you up on bad days, someone you can text or call when things go wrong, and knowing that you can bring up any problem in your next therapy session.
On the downside, there are days when you don't want to talk to anyone and prefer to be more introverted, but therapy forces you to confront issues you'd rather avoid. Another con is feeling judged if the therapist doesn't give you the answers you want to hear. You might also feel like quitting therapy if you feel you're not making progress, but it's essential to practice the exercises and tasks the therapist recommends.
Overall, I think it's beneficial. Should everyone have a therapist? I don't think so, but I definitely believe everyone should have someone to vent to. The gym won't always suffice, reading won't always help, and sometimes you just need another perspective. This is why, even when I consider canceling therapy, I continue going.
Very good thinking piece on the pros and cons of therapy.
